Bottomless Backpacks Food for Youth™

This program is four-dimensional, and focuses on youth fitness and nutrition. Each day during the school year, elementary aged students participate in:
Active Trek™ (walking/biking to school),
Active Start™ (30 minutes of exercise prior to school),
Active Lunch™ (walk/run), and
Active After Hours™ (exercise after school and on weekends).
Students track their participation in Active Start booklets and earn progress awards. ECF provides fresh fruit, progress awards, and volunteerism to support this program. To inquire further about this program email inquiry@ This program is an intergenerational cooking class where seniors and youth interact through cooking lessons and casual conversation. Basic kitchen skills such as hygiene, cutting, coring, measuring, spreading, and mixing are taught to children ages 4-14 years old. Series cook books and etiquette tips are given to participants weekly. This program is currently offered weekly through the Lynnwood Library and is sponsored in part by the Friends of the Library Foundation. Details regarding times can be found through the Sno-Isle library web site. Senior aged participants are needed for this program. The interaction between children and seniors is cornerstone to this program. To inquire further about this program email inquiry@ Granny-Grams and Grampy-Grams™ Modest baskets of treasures are delivered to socially isolated seniors. Useful items such as playing cards, laundry soaps, body soaps, hygiene items, note cards, teas and treats are put in the packs along with handmade cards from area youth. Information about the foundation’s free intergenerational programs is also included and the packs are delivered to area seniors. Donations of gift items and volunteerism in creating and delivering the packs is needed for this program.
